Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish

A new website for a parish in Bialystok โ€” a bespoke theme, four custom plugins and a simplified panel in which the parish priest runs the announcements, the gallery and the community directory himself. Plus a full migration to the target hosting.

Challenge

The parish was stuck on a rigid subpage of the archdiocese site, with no way to run its own announcements or gallery. The panel was to be taken over by a non-technical person, and the target hosting started on PHP 5.6, with no SSH and no database tools.

Solution

We began with eight homepage mockup variants; on the one the parish chose we built the theme and four custom plugins โ€” a gallery, a community directory, a content module and lightweight SEO. Over the WordPress dashboard we laid a simplified panel with its own role and a separate login page, so the priest sees eleven tiles instead of the whole back end. Content from the old site was moved with our own importers, and the migration to the target hosting with resumable scripts, because the server kills any process after thirty seconds.

What we built โ€” element by element

  1. A parish website built from scratch

The Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Bialystok had only a rigid subpage on the archdiocese site. We designed and built a standalone site: its own theme, four custom plugins and a panel the parish uses to run the site itself.

  2. Client panel

A Parish Panel instead of the WordPress dashboard

Over the standard back end we laid a simplified panel: eleven tiles with concrete tasks, a dedicated role and a separate login page. A non-technical person does not have to learn WordPress to post an announcement.

  3. Bespoke component

The parish newsletter, page-flipped in the browser

A PDF viewer with a page-turning effect โ€” parishioners read the newsletter without downloading a file. In the editor it is inserted with a button, in three clicks, without typing any code.

  4. Accessible content

Child protection standards as a readable page

A document that previously existed only as a PDF download became a full, searchable page โ€” with seven standards, its appendices and its own print styles.

  5. Content migration

One hundred and sixty announcements moved by importer

The announcement archive came across with our own importer: a preview before saving, a progress bar, duplicate protection and the option to roll the whole operation back. Retyping it by hand would have taken weeks and drifted anyway.

  6. Gallery

    Albums arranged by dragging

The order of albums and photos is set with the mouse, and the cover is picked from the media library in one click. No shortcodes, no numbering fields to keep in order.

  7. GDPR

    Statistics that need no consent

Instead of an external counter with cookies, the parish got its own aggregate one โ€” no IP addresses, no identifying visitors. There is nothing to declare in the privacy policy and nothing to ask about in a banner.
