Online shop + bespoke theme ยท Cordless power tools

IdealneZakupy.pl

A cordless power tool shop rewritten from a bought page-builder template kit into a bespoke WooCommerce theme โ€” together with a custom import gateway that stops the warehouse system from wiping the product copy we wrote.

Challenge

The entire look of the shop hung on a bought template kit and three plugins at once, the catalogue went to Google without a single piece of its own copy, and syncing with the warehouse system threatened to overwrite every product name on the first run.

Solution

We rewrote the shop from scratch as a bespoke WordPress theme: twenty-five modules, no page builder, no paid plugins. On top of that a custom plugin bridging the shop and the warehouse system โ€” it intercepts import requests, answers with the id of a category that already exists in the shop, and shields our titles and descriptions from being overwritten. The SEO layer, one hundred and eight titles and meta descriptions, went in with a script that had a dry run and an undo.

What we built โ€” element by element

  1. A shop rewritten from scratch on a bespoke theme

IdealneZakupy.pl sells cordless power tools, phone accessories and home equipment. We found it running on a bought page-builder template kit and wrote a bespoke WooCommerce theme in its place. The next steps show the most interesting parts.

  2. Architecture

A look that does not depend on third-party plugins

The bought kit kept the shop layout inside three plugins at once โ€” an update to any of them could pull the page apart. The theme written from scratch has twenty-five modules and not one such dependency: the client pays no licence fees, and the layout has nothing to fall apart on.

  3. Shop

Filters that count what is actually in stock

Filtering by category, price, attributes and availability runs over AJAX, with a counter on every option and a canonical URL for the search engine. A product with no price set does not sit there as an empty 0.00 card โ€” it turns into an "ask for a price" item, so the page and its ranking stay while the offer disappears.

  4. Business buyers

Tax number, VAT invoice and the free shipping threshold

A tax number field with checksum validation flows into the order, the dashboard, the lists, the emails and the customer account โ€” a VAT invoice is part of the checkout, not a separate email request. Next to it works a free shipping progress bar that hides the paid courier once the threshold is passed and sets the right option itself.

  5. Integration

An import gateway that answers instead of refusing

On every update the warehouse system wants to create its own categories in the shop. A refusal breaks the whole import, so our plugin answers instead: asked to "create category X", it returns the id of a category the shop already has. One hundred and ten products went through in a single run and the category tree did not move.

  6. SEO

One hundred and eight descriptions the robot cannot delete

The catalogue got its own titles and meta descriptions written for Google โ€” one hundred and eight unique entries across products and categories. Every product also carries a flag protecting its name and copy: the import brings price, stock and photos, but the text stays ours. Without it the first sync run would have wiped all of that work.
