WIKI Transport

A new site for a removals company built from scratch as static HTML โ€” replacing one that ran on a commercial template for medical clinics. Thirty-two pages, not a single JavaScript file, and the whole site lighter than the old home page alone.

Challenge

A removals company had a website built on a commercial template for medical clinics: the template demo pages for a clinic were sitting in Google, the home page had no H1, meta descriptions were missing almost everywhere, and the call button pointed at the opening hours instead of the phone number.

Solution

We pulled the old content out with a script into an intermediate format, and a second script assembled the entire new site from it: thirty-two static pages, the sitemap, the structured data and the menu. Nine services, twelve districts and five blog posts kept at their existing URLs. No JavaScript, one stylesheet, zero requests outside the client domain. The old CMS layer and the template demo pages were given a 410 Gone, and the addresses that had to change got 301 redirects.

What we built โ€” element by element

  1. A removals company site rebuilt from scratch

WIKI Transport handles home and office removals, furniture and antique transport and flat clearances in Warsaw. We built the company a new site from scratch โ€” no WordPress, no page builder, plain static HTML. The next steps show how it turned out.

  2. Starting point

A removals site on a medical clinic template

The previous site ran on a commercial template for the medical sector and was still serving its demo content: laboratory analysis, a neurology clinic and patient testimonials. On top of that no H1 on the home page, meta descriptions on two pages out of thirty-two, and a call link with the opening hours typed in where the number should be.

  3. Content migration

    Forty-four URLs moved by script

Rather than retype the content, we wrote a two-stage generator: the first script breaks downloaded copies of the old pages into a stream of typed blocks, the second assembles the whole new site from them. The substance survived the migration sentence for sentence, and one change to a template rebuilds all thirty-two pages at once.

  4. Performance

The whole site lighter than the old home page

The old home page alone weighed over four hundred kilobytes of HTML and pulled in fifty-six stylesheets and forty-six scripts. The new site โ€” all thirty-two pages together with the stylesheet โ€” fits in roughly the same weight. Zero JavaScript files, one nine-kilobyte stylesheet, no external fonts, maps or iframes: the browser makes not a single request outside the client domain, so there is nothing to ask about in a consent banner either.

  5. Local SEO

    Twelve districts, not twelve copies

Every district page has its own heading, its own "what we do here" section, its own closing call to action and its own structured data carrying the district name. On top of that three independent internal linking paths: the grid on the home page, the neighbouring districts block and the full list in the footer.

  6. Structured data

MovingCompany instead of one block from a template

The home page outputs a graph with the moving company type, opening hours, contact details and a service area spelled out as Warsaw plus twelve districts, along with an FAQ of five questions. Service pages carry the service type, posts carry the article type, and thirty-one of thirty-two pages carry breadcrumbs. The company details come from one place in the generator, so they are identical on every page.
